Relexology can bring relief to a wide range of conditions as it has a deelpy relaxing effect on mind and body as a whole.
Reflexology is based on the principle that there are areas on the feet & hands which correspond to all of the organs, glands & parts of the body. Stimulation of these reflexes works on the 8 corresponding systems, skeletal, muscular, neurological, respiratory, endocrine, digestive vascular and reproductive. Over 75% of health problems can be attributed to stress and tension and Reflexology helps restore vitality and relieve stress within the body. Being non invasive Reflexology is suitable from babies to the elderly.
During a treatment specific techniques will be applied to points on the feet/hands thus improving blood, lymph and nerve circulation, creating deep relaxation whilst balancing the bodys systems. Orthopedic reflexology is a form of manual therapy and it differs from other reflexology forms by applying knowledge from the ancient Greek and Roman Physicians.

Reflexology focuses on the reflexes/zones of the body found on the feet but Orthopedic reflexology specifically targets the anatomy and physiology of the foot and lower leg including working on the bones, muscles tendons, ligaments and fascia. Orthopedic Reflexology allows the therapist to discriminate the exact circumstance of soft tissue on their clients feet enabling the therapist apply the correct technique to re balance the tissues, Chinese meridians, myofacial merdians tigger points etc.
Orthopedic reflexology works deeply and specifically on the intrisic and extrinsic muscles of the feet which helps restore the natural biomechanics of the feet , aiding gait patterns and enhancing proprioception. All the muscles of the lower leg are connected to the feet making Orthopedic reflexology extremely beneficial to to both foot and lower leg related problems as it treats both as a unit during a treatment.

I have been trained under Spiros Dimitrakoulas, the Founder of Orthopedic Reflexology, he is the Former President of the Hellenic Association of Reflexology and the Chair of the Reflexology in Europe Network, Spiros also heads the team of Reflexologists at the pain clinic University Aretaieio Athens.
